Maybe it’s because I was born and raised a country girl, but I have a serious love for camo print. I think it can be really sophisticated yet sporty….country yet urban..all of the contradictory  amazing styles at the same time!  I especially love a camo top paired with white shorts or jeans.  It can be dressed up or down with cute wedges as pictured or with some cute keds.   I have a ton of camo tops and hats but next on my list a cute pair of camo pants! Below I have listed some of my favorite camo items available right now! Happy shopping!

tampa bay area weekend getaway

unnamed (24)unnamed (28)unnamed (27)unnamed (25)unnamed (26)

Just got back from an amazing but too short weekend getaway in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. This is one of my favorite places to visit.   You can’t beat the beautiful blue water and the variety of things to do! My sister lives in St. Pete so it’s nice having a local guide to this amazing place.  My husband has also been attending Yankees spring training games here for over 10 years so it works out that we make this trip at least every spring.   Below I am sharing some of my favorite places to stay, eat, drink and also sharing some of my favorite things to do while visiting!

Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites – This place is wonderful if you are staying for more than a few days. It has a great kitchen and it’s very spacious.  There are beautiful views from the balcony and some really fabulous amenities such as a pool, hot tub, and beach bar.  It makes sense why it has the word sunset in the name since we witnessed the most gorgeous sunset on our stay from our balcony!

Cappy’s Pizzeria – All i can say is YUM!! This place is family style and the pizza is phenomenal! You can pick from NY or Chicago style and as many toppings as you choose.  They also had an amazing Greek salad that I am still dreaming about!  Not only was the food super yummy, it had a great atmosphere.  There was a cute deck with string lights (you know I’m a sucker for those) and they had a great selection of beer.

Pipo’s Cuban Cafe: Check this place out if you want some authentic cuban food that won’t break the bank!

The Canopy : Located in the stunning Birchwood Inn, The Canopy is an amazing rooftop bar with breathtaking views and and sophisticated views. If you’re going for a special occasion, you may want to look into renting a private cabana!

Madeira Beach Snack Shack : I love any place where I can sit in my bathing suit and cover up, overlook the ocean and sip on a pina-colada.  There is usually some live music playing as well which makes it even better! Make sure you keep your cup too because you get a discount at the bar if you reuse your cup!

Mural tour-  If you’re into photography or just want to channel your inner artsy side, check out the murals in downtown St. Petersburg.  They are all over and you can check out some really great restaurants and coffee shops along the way!

Baseball- There are so many spring training baseball facilities in the area and it’s always a really fun environment to catch a game! The Yankees are located in Tampa, the Orioles are in Sarasota, the Blue Jays are in Dunedin and the Phillies are in Clearwater.  Even if you don’t make it down during the spring, these parks turn into some minor league ball which means cheap and laid back!

John’s Pass – If you’re in the mood for some shopping, check out John’s Pass. There are a lot of cute boutiques and specialty shops!

Beach – I am definitely a beach bum so I am completely content with spending my days on the beach!  There are so many great beach towns within 20-30 minutes of each other! Madeira Beach, St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Pass- A- Grille! All of them have something unique and different to offer but they all have the same beautiful sunsets and clear blue water!

I really can’t wait to come back to the Tampa Bay area and do some more exploring! Let me know if you have any suggestions for next time I visit in the comments below!

Thanks for stopping by!

dress: target – old (similar, love this, love this)
flannel: old navy -old
sneakers: h&m
hat: mlb

Fun fact time: my husband is Yankees obsessed and I wouldn’t really use the word obsessed lightly. If he had the choice between me and Derek Jeter he would probably pick Jeets….but who could blame him? lol He’s been going to spring training since high school and we are preparing for the annual trip this weekend.  Don’t get me wrong, I love sports but dressing for games can be stressful for me. I am not a jersey wearing or team shirt type of girl- just not my thing.  I tend to be more on the girly side and so while I have been packing, I have been racking my brain about how to pull off a dress at a spring training game.  The answer- a chambray dress! Classic and can be dressed down with white keds!  I don’t think I will have to worry about the temperature in Florida, but as for Maryland, it would also be smart to tie a cute flannel around the waist as well for style and for warmth later if it’s a night game (this is obviously not my first rodeo lol).   As much as I love to be girly, I LOVE a good baseball hat.  Lucky for me the vintage Yankee hat is adorable and it is my favorite accessory when attending a game!

What is your go to sporting event outfit? I have another option in the works for you if you would rather rock shorts/pants sitting in the bleachers! Coming soon!

spring transition

unnamed (14)unnamed (15)unnamed (16)unnamed (17)

top: old navy (similar– I want this in every color!!)
coat: gap – old (similar)
jeans: old navy
shoes: sole society

It’s officially spring but that doesn’t necessarily mean the weather is going to cooperate on the east coast! Transition pieces are so important to have and this post is featuring some of my favorite!  First of all- this top is a staple in my closet! I am so glad that h&m just came out with a very similar top in many different colors (I plan on making at trip later this week).  It’s great because it’s lightweight and bright but also is long sleeved for those cooler spring temps.  As I am transitioning out of winter, I paired it with my camel peacoat (a winter staple). As the weather warms up, I’ll put it with a trench or hopefully ditch the coat all together.  My last transition piece in this photo are my shoes! I am still obsessing over these open toe booties from sole society!!  I know I will be wearing them all season long until I am ready to embrace the flip flop for summer!

What are some of your favorite transition pieces? Let me know in the comments below!

Top: H&M (similar)
Pants: H&M(only 14.99!!!!)

Y’all…..these pants are going fast! They are already sold out in one size! These are the same style as the powder blue ones I posted yesterday.  They are really comfy and as usual at H&M, I would recommend going a size or two up!  Unfortunately this top isn’t up on their website, but I just bought it last week. I realized I didn’t have a white button down in my closet which is a work closet staple so I snagged this because I loved the gold buttons and the tie!

We are snowed in today and I could not be happier to have a day to relax (and online shop haha)!! If you are snowed in, what are you doing today?

Thanks for stopping by!

pants: H&M – (color currently not available)
shoes: Old Navy (similar)

H&M is one of my favorite stores for many reasons.  It is affordable, fashion forward, and offers many unique pieces.  I could not believe that these pants were only $14.99! I had a feeling they are going to sell out quick so I snagged them in the black and white pattern too.  Can’t wait to style those with another top that I picked up from H&M (lets just say I did a little damage!!) Powder blue is one of my favorite colors this seasons and when I saw that this floral top incorporated powder blue and blush, I knew it had to be mine! Side note, always check for coupons when shopping ANYWHERE but especially H&M.  I got 30% off my total purchase and ended up spending less than 80 dollars for two pairs of pants, 4 tops, and a pair of shoes!  Who else goes into shopping mode once March and spring rolls around? Hopefully the coupons will help you not break the bank lol!

Hope everyone has a great week!

my spring uniform

top: TJ Maxx (similar)
jeans: Old Navy  (on sale for $25!!)
purse: Kate Spade (similar)
shoes: Sole Society

As you read a few posts ago, I was on the hunt for new white jeans and I finally found them at Old Navy. I went with the mid-rise rockstar and the best part was- they were on sale (and still are)! Whit jeans are my absolute favorite in any season but especially spring and summer!  My spring uniform is going to consist of these jeans, an off the should or cold shoulder top and open toe booties.  From the amount of tops I want to pair with these jeans, I probably should order another pair since white jeans can be a pain to keep clean! What is your spring uniform? Let me know in the comments!
